Physics is the last and shortest section of CEnT-S: only 5 questions in 10 minutes. Questions test basic relations — proportionality, units and graph reading — rather than long numerical solutions.

Because it is only 5 points, study physics efficiently: mechanics alone accounts for most of the questions, and dimensional analysis/proportional reasoning unlocks the rest.

*Question counts per topic in 6 CEnT-S past exams from our question bank; each exam has the full 5 Physics questions. Exams are numbered, not dated. These figures are derived from the past-exam question samples that have reached us; the samples may be incomplete or contain errors, and the topic mix can change from one exam session to the next. Treat them as a guide to priorities, not a prediction of your exam.

Ideas clave

  • Mechanics dominates: free fall, motion graphs, Newton's laws and energy conservation.
  • Units & proportionality: ‘by what percentage does it change?’ and dimensional analysis.
  • Electricity, thermodynamics and waves get one question at most — learn the core relations only.
  • 10 minutes for 5 questions: no time for long algebra, look for the ratio.

Preguntas de ejemplo de Physics de CEnT-S y tácticas de eliminación

Descubre cómo se construyen las preguntas de physics de CEnT-S y cómo una eliminación disciplinada evita la penalización de −0.25:

01Proportionality · Inverse-Square LawPregunta 1
A small source emits energy uniformly in all directions with constant power PP. At a distance rr the intensity is I=P4πr2I = \dfrac{P}{4\pi r^2}. A detector is moved 20% farther from the source. Approximately by what percentage does the measured intensity decrease?

02Kinematics · Vertical ThrowPregunta 2
A stone is thrown vertically upward from the edge of a building with an initial speed of 10 m/s and reaches the ground 4 s later. Neglect air resistance, g=10 m/s2g = 10\ \text{m/s}^2. Which is correct?

Los 5 errores más comunes en Physics de CEnT-S

Errores conceptuales y tácticos recurrentes que les cuestan puntos decisivos a los estudiantes:

01

Linear thinking

Intensity, gravity and Coulomb force go as 1/r²; kinetic energy as v². Check the exponent before computing a percentage.

02

Power vs energy

kW is power, kWh is energy. Options with the wrong unit can be eliminated instantly.

03

Sign conventions

In vertical motion choose a positive direction and keep it; mixing signs gives the planted wrong heights.

04

Celsius vs Kelvin

Absolute temperature in gas laws and thermodynamics must be in kelvin.

05

Spending too long

10 minutes for 5 questions: if a problem needs more than 3 lines, look for a ratio or energy shortcut.

Hoja de ruta de estudio

Hoja de ruta estratégica de estudio de 10 semanas

Weeks 1–2

Diagnostic & Foundations

Take a timed diagnostic; rebuild the Foundation topics marked ‘Easy’ and note every error type.

Weeks 3–5

Core Topics

Work through the ‘Medium’ and ‘Hard’ topics in the order of the frequency table; 20–30 targeted questions per topic.

Weeks 6–7

Mixed Practice

Mixed sets under section timing (2 min/question). Keep an error log: concept, reading or calculation.

Weeks 8–9

Full Mocks

One full 65-question CEnT-S mock per week with real section timers; review every wrong and every guessed answer.

Week 10

Final Polish

Re-do your error log, revise traps, and practise the skip-or-guess rule for the −0.25 penalty.
